POP HOP I / 4 to 6

 

A beginner jazz class with rhythmic elements of hip-hop. Dancers are introduced to basic technique, locomotor skills, coordination, and isolation. Dancers will learn an upbeat combination to a kid’s top hit song! Please wear dance attire that allows for movement. No jeans or baggy clothes. Dancer may wear socks or jazz shoes.

 

POP HOP II / 7 to 9

 

A beginner/pre-intermediate jazz class with rhythmic elements of hip-hop. Dancers are introduced to basic technique, locomotor skills, coordination, and isolation. Emphasis on music, beat, and percussive tempo. Dancers will learn an upbeat combination to a kid’s top hit song! Please wear dance attire that allows for movement. No jeans or baggy clothes. Dancer may wear socks or jazz shoes.

 

MINDFUL MOVEMENT / 18 +

 

Explore the basic fundamental movements needed to move better and feel better.  Push, pull, hinge, carry… Gentle lengthening and strengthening techniques will be taught will emphasis on proper body alignment. This class is designed for the mature adult yet is appropriate for all ages and for those with movement dysfunctions. Bring a mat if you have one and wear clothes you can move in.

 

POP JAZZ II / 13 +

 

An intermediate/advanced jazz class with rhythmic and technical elements of hip-hop. We’ll be combining traditional jazz technique with some hip hop flare. Focus on overall style, attitude, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Curriculum will include jumps, turns, and kicks. Dancers will learn a fun and upbeat combination. Please wear dance attire that allows for movement. No jeans or baggy clothes. Dancer may wear socks, jazz shoes, or a performance sneaker.

 

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING for the YOUNG ATHLETE / 12 +

 

Designed to improve all functional abilities such as core stabilization, flexibility, balance, power, strength and cardiorespiratory endurance. Traditional exercise training components incorporated into circuit training routines with the use of resistance bands, stability ball, weights, balance pad…ect. With focus on the first 2 phases of the OPT (Optimal Performance Training) model, Stabilization & Strength Endurance, which follow the systematic guidelines of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

POP JAZZ I / 10 to 12

POWER SCULPT / 13 +

 

A fierce fusion of yoga and strength moves, body weight resistance, light hand weights, and cardio. Classes are set to energizing music and designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group in your body. Leave feeling calm, strong, refreshed and rejuvenated. This is a total body workout for ALL fitness levels. Please wear clothes that allow for movement.

 

BELLY DANCE FUSION / 18+

 

Dancers will be exploring a combination of traditional tribal styles as well as contemporary elements such as popping and cabaret. Belly Dance is primarily a torso-driven dance, with an emphasis on articulations of the hips. Dancers will be working on balance, strength, and complex rhythms and patterns. Belly dancing is considered to be a low impact form of exercise which means that it works in harmony with the body rather than against the body. This is a total body workout for ALL fitness levels. Please wear clothes that allow for movement.

 

TAP / 12+

 

This class is for those with knowledge of basic tap steps. Center floor technique and choreography for all levels.

 

LOW IMPACT CARDIO DANCE CLASS / 18 +

A low impact cardio dance class designed for those who want to have fun moving, shaking and working their heart muscle, without the impact on their joints. This class will progress through a warm-up, several dance move combinations which build upon the first step, and finish with a stretch and cool down. Burn calories and have fun while dancing to many genres of music and dance styles. Wear clothes that move! And bring water!
